The Biggest Story: How the Snake Crusher Brings Us Back to the Garden

Author Kevin DeYoung has put together a wonderful re-telling of the Bible from beginning to end. It is a very honest portrayal, with none of the sugar coating that some children’s Bible stories use, and it is written so that everything is tied back into Salvation story. From the Garden to the New Heaven and New Earth, this telling takes children and adults alike through the incredible and awesome story of Jesus.

There are many bits of Bible history, like how many people were renamed, that are presented in a fun way and that are incorporated in a manner to keep the story approachable for even very young children.

The illustrations by Don Clark are beautiful. They are saturated with brilliant color and create a mesmerizing backdrop. The symbolism is exquisite and very well done.

The Biggest Story: DVD

While the book is wonderful, the DVD brings an added element of life through stunning animations and a brilliant musical score. At only 26 minutes in length, it is a perfect way for the children to start the morning while coffee and breakfast are being made.

The boys have become completely taken with watching The Biggest Story first thing in the morning or just before quiet time in the afternoon.

The Biggest Story Audio Book

The audio book is an excellent addition to our audio books and dramas we keep at home and in the car for on the go. Narrated by the author, Mr. DeYoung keeps the narration fun and full of emotion. Well-read audio books are a wonderful learning tool. This also includes the gorgeous score from composer John Poon.
