Ever just feel like you’ve had one too many cheat meals? Or all your allergy meds have made you sluggish and you just want to give your system a good reboot? That’s where the 3-Day Refresh comes in. I had fallen into a habit of having too much dark chocolate (yes, there is such a thing as too much of an allowed treat) and not sleeping like I should. It was taking it’s toll on my energy and my mood. So I decided to give this 3-Day Refresh thing a try.
What is 3-Day Refresh?
3-Day Refresh is a simple and easy supplement to reboot your system and get you back on track to eating right, exercising, and feeling your best. It is a dietary supplement from Beachbody that uses Shakeology as breakfast, a gentle but effective Fiber Sweep supplement, and Vanilla Fresh shakes for lunch and dinner. You do eat real food, too, but it’s all veggies, so don’t plan on filling up on steak every night!
How does 3-Day Refresh Work?
Following the program guidelines, you get ample nutrition and most likely more water each day than you are used to drinking. Be prepared for a lot of potty breaks! The actual cleansing part comes from the Fiber Sweep, the amount of water, and the yummy veggies you will be consuming. There’s no potty emergencies, but there can be some gas and bloating if you are not used to consuming a veggie and fiber heavy diet. The meal guide give you lots of ideas for less gas/bloat inducing veggies if you fall into that category. It’s a very gentle cleanse supplement and is meant to help your system get back on track, not to make you lose weight quickly or in a not-healthy manner or to treat any kind of disorder or disease.
You are recommended to do mild to moderate exercise during the 3-Day Refresh to help keep thing moving and to stay on track with your exercise program. I found doing the 21 Day Fix yoga routine to be perfect for me. You want to allow your body to use most of your energy to replenish with the vitamins and minerals in your shakes, and to pour energy into cleansing out your system, so heavy exercising is not recommended.
My results from 3-Day Refresh
- I did lose 4 pounds, and really got back into drinking the water amount that I should be. (For optimal health and joint lubrication, you should be drinking at least 1/2 your body weight in ounces of water every day. For example, someone who weighs 150 pound should be consuming 75 oz of water a day, minimum)
- I felt much lighter and my jeans were fitting more comfortably after the first 3 days. The cleansing effects and thirst lasted for about 3 more days. A week and a half later, I’m still drinking the recommended water amount, but not really exceeding it. I drank about a gallon of water per day the 3 days of the Refresh and the 3 days following.
- My head was much clearer and I slept much better and found that I was not nearly as “wired” at night after the first 2 days. Sleeping more soundly definitely helps me feel better and more energized.
What’s not to love about 3-Day Refresh?
I am being totally honest here! The Fiber Sweep was the hardest part of the whole program. You absolutely do want to use the recommended amount of water, if not an ounce or two more, and you need to chug that stuff down as quickly as possible! The taste isn’t bad, but the texture is awful. I’ve never been able to drink anything like Metamucil, either, so maybe I just have issues with the texture. I was very glad it was just once a day for three days. As much as I struggled with it, I will absolutely be using the 3-Day Refresh again to maintain my health and fitness at least twice a year.
I would recommend the 3-Day Refresh to anyone who is looking to get a fast-track start on a journey to better health, or has fallen “off the wagon” like I did and needs to get back on track. It’s also a wonderful maintenance tool for people who are on a great fitness program and just want to make sure their body is at optimal performance level. It’s a great supplement!
