Sometimes even us homeschool moms need a little something to pamper ourselves. Something to make us feel all done-up and prettified. (I hope you can hear my drawl when I say that!) But I have to be honest, I detest doing or having my nails done. I’m a mother to two boys, my hands get beaten to pieces all the time. Before that, though, I was hard on my nails. I use them to open tape on packages, to turn screws sometimes, and now to separate LEGOs. Talk about a no-polish-will-hold-up-to-that-life! Not even the “shellac” stuff at the salon, not to mention I’m not a fan of all those nasty chemicals in polish and remover. To say I was skeptical of trying Jamberry wraps is a mild understatement. But I did. And I’m so glad!
Disclosure: I was provided a set of Vintage Chic Jamberry nail wraps for review purposes. No other compensation was received. All opinions are honest and my own.
Alisa sent me the Vintage Chic wraps. They are gorgeous! There are so many fun styles of Jamberrys it was difficult to choose. She also sent me links to some very helpful YouTube videos for application and troubleshooting. Alisa even has a great Facebook group for all her clients!
I used the quick application method, during nap time. I used my hairdryer for heat. I must say, it was pretty painless. I think it helped that my nails are currently longer than they usually are. I could see my usual short nails being a bit more difficult to trim around and to file. They went on easily and then we ran out the door to speech therapy.
Now, 8 days later, I finally removed them. The edges were beginning to get catches, more because in using my nails as usual I’d notched and torn them than from the wraps giving out, and I was ready to have plain nails again. There were a few spots where the wraps had buckled a little but I’m not positive I used enough pressure and I do have really round nails. Next time I’ll use the more traditional application method to see if there is a difference. But I have to tell you, the Jamberry wraps lasted 8 days longer than any polish I’ve ever used!
For busy moms who like pretty and long-lasting nails, I don’t think there is a better option out there than Jamberry! I know I won’t be futzing with polish again! And the patterns are just too cute! These would make awesome stocking stuffers, too. (I hope I’m not the only early shopper out there!)
And as for how they came off? I was worried it would be like stick-on nails. You know how they pull the top 2 layers of nail off and leave you with easily torn and not so pretty nails? I was beyond thrilled to see that these Jamberry wraps left my nails in super shape!
Do you have a favorite Jamberry wrap? I dare you to go check them out and pick just one! Thanks, Alisa, for a wonderful new find and for this Mommy Moment!
