Studying a Butterfly Garden
One chrysalis and 4 caterpillars |
*We have done 2 more Butterfly Garden refills since this review and enjoyed each one tremendously! These Butterfly Unit Study posts here and here and our Butterfly Pinterest board will be of help in creating your own awesome Butterfly Study!*
We got an Insect Lore Butterfly Garden Kit. Yes, Teddy is a little young, but he is very observant and loved watching the caterpillars and butterflies. I, however, had a field day with the whole experience!
It was neat to see the caterpillars eat and climb around their little jar. Our caterpillars arrived and within the first 2 days, they had all turned upside down and we had one chrysalis, so one of them hatched about 18 hours before the rest. Separating the silk from the chrysalis was a little more nerve wracking than I thought it would be so I had my hubby do it 🙂 But we safety pinned the paper to the side of the habitat that came with the kit and were good to go. Easy peasy.
