I received Homeschool Planet for free for review purposes. I was compensated for my time and I was not required to post a positive review. All opinions are honest and my own.
Do you feel like you need a homeschool scheduler?
I am not an organized person. I’m attempting to KonMari my way through our house because I feel like if we have less, I’ll at least have a better chance. I can’t really do that with homeschool, though. I mean, I could get rid of our school books, Montessori puzzles, and leave out writing and math, but that would be a bit counter productive. I generally feel like pulling out my hair while yelling or hiding in the back closet corner rocking uncontrollably when I try to schedule our homeschool subjects and days. I get lost in the hour tracking, the thought of making a transcript terrifies me, and if you ask me what we actually accomplished last week I might cry.
Enter Homeschool Planet from Homeschool Buyers Co-op. I jumped at the opportunity to review this planner. It’s online, so it’s easy to plug things into and it seemed like a great thing to see if it could help me keep better track of our homeschooling.
Homeschool Planning Software
Homeschool Planet has a 30 day free trial that you should go sign up for now. And here’s why, it’s a dream for an unorganized mom, a struggling mom, a mom with more than one elementary age child, a mom looking to increase her middle/high schoolers responsibility, etc. The flexibility of the software allows for very precise scheduling or a looser schedule like we have for the early elementary years.
Mr. T is almost 6 so we don’t have a ton of structured work but keeping track of what we do is still a challenge and having a plan for our together days of schooling helps me have our supplies ready ahead of time. For me, being able to quickly set out Mr. T and Mr. F’s schedule in the online planning section along with notes and times (our Redbird Math is in 30 minute segments, for example) and getting both a weekly schedule email the first of the week and a daily email each morning are worth every penny. It’s like having a homeschool accountability partner. The various calendar view of monthly, weekly, and daily are shown below.
In addition to a daily quote, to-do list, weather, shopping, messages, and daily Bible verse widgets to customize your desktop planner. You can access your planner from your mobile device by using the address https://www.homeschool-planner.com. On smartphones you can view one day at a time. On tablets you view one week at a time. On either kind of device, you can view your appointments and classes, and mark off assignments when completed.
Homeschool Planet online homeschool planner:
- Multiple log-ins for all your family to see their individual schedule. This allows for your older students to have more responsibility in their schooling and encourages time management and independence.
- Mom can see everyone all at once or individually.
- It’s very simple to add, edit, make notes, and have certain classes and activities repeat.
- The email reminders are awesome.
- You can create transcripts within the program. This is huge! With states having so many different regulations, the ability to track hours, classes, credits, and add it into the transcript within the same program is wonderful.
- If you like keeping paper checklists you can print off the daily, weekly, and monthly calendars while still having electronic records and reminders.
Video Overview: Here is a short 2 minute video showing many of the Homeschool Planet features and navigation. Unfortunately my microphone decided to misbehave so you’ll be enjoying Mozart while you see how easy it is to navigate and use Homeschool Planet Software. I love the to-do list and shopping list features and how simple it is to email to myself so I can check it off on my phone!
