We’ve been smelling the paint again! Tangerine, Pomegranate, Basil, Lemon Verbena, Plum and Blueberry! These delectable paints smell as pretty as they look.
Glob Paints are all natural plant based watercolors. Perfect for toddlers and older kiddos who still mouth everything, SPD or otherwise. Mr. F didn’t get to play this round, but I will let him try these out as finger painting soon, just on a day Mr. J is here to help me keep it contained and off the carpet/walls/ceiling/whathaveyou. I’m sure other moms of rambunctious preschoolers understand.
The Glob Paints comes with 6 cups with lids, 6 powder packets and 2 bamboo brushes that are the perfect size for little fingers. (We purchased the bamboo brush holder separately.) You can use as much or as little of the powder as you like and it even has recipes for play dough and other crafts you can use the yummy smelling paint pigment for. All you do is mix equal parts water and powder and then you have beautiful paint. The cups allow for easy storage and if the paints dry out you just reconstitute them with water. These are very soft colors, if you are looking for serious art paint they might not be a good fit, but we haven’t played much with ratios so you might be able to get rich colors with enough pigment.
There is also a Paint Kit of 4 Glob Paint Pigments that have a deeper color to them (and are on sale at the time of this posting!), which we may be trying out soon. These were easy cleanup and Mr. T really enjoyed them. He even noticed how awesome they smelled. He held them up to my nose, and almost gave me a green nose in the process 🙂 Boys will be boys.

We have been sorting! Mr. T makes a game out of hopping the awesome Bear Counters over the jars and into where they belong. It is precious! These are a great manipulative for preschool and elementary ages!
And I took a DSLR 101 course a few weeks ago and have been playing with the ISO, shutter speed and aperture. It’s fun but I have a long way to go before these pictures you see here are all wonderful, as you can see from the four where I was playing with the flowers I cut for the dining table :). But hopefully I will be able to take great pictures of the boys with some more practice and patience.
